Red Velvet Smoothie with 2 energizing ingredients keeping you feeling like a rockstar all day!

The alarm is blaring and you’ve hit the snooze button a time or three you pretty much haven’t done any of the preplanning you swore you’d get done the night before. You know, your healthy prepared lunch and a few healthy go-to snacks to keep you way clear of the vending machines at work. Alright, so it might not be the best start to the morning but it can still be a great start to the day. Here is a quick and easy  Smoothie recipe with 2 essential ingredients that will have your body feeling like, what else? A rockstar!

Ingredients:

1 cup Organic Mixed Berries                         

2 cups Leafy Green Spinach

2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar

1 beet or substitute 1Tablespoon Pure beets powder

2 Tablespoons ground flaxseed

1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

1 cup of water

1 cup crushed ice

1 Tablespoon brown sugar(optional)

Blend all ingredients

Pour blender Ingredients into a glass garnish with fresh fruit, mint, sip and enjoy. Clock ticking and the morning rush hour is at its absolute worse? No worries, skip the garnish but none of the goodness simply toss blender ingredients into a to-go cup, deep breath out the door you go, Namaste!

So before you get your day started morning salutation and smoothie in hand here are the 2 energizing ingredients that just might have you feeling like a Rockstar kicking your heels up all day!

1. Apple Cider Vinegar – Before we tell you how good it can make you feel we first want to make sure you pick the right one for all the right reasons. When your out shopping look for organic and unfiltered a must-have to retain all the healthy enzymes, proteins, potassium and good bacteria your body will love and cherish. These properties are thought to help boost your energy levels, help control your blood sugar and combat the lactic acid build-up improving your energy levels throughout the day, and who doesn’t need that to get their day started?

2. Beets – Aside from giving this smoothie it’s delicious red velvety color it is also important in giving you some of that Rock Star energy. And, by the way, just as a side note you can also thank your Mom for some of that zest too. Turns out beets contain Nitrates and improve the workings of a part of your cells known as the Mitochondria the energy powerhouses of your cells which just so happens to be the only part of your cells that are exclusively inherited from your Mother, so don’t forget to give Mom a shout out for some of that newfound zeal!
