So finding a healthy snack or some quick food to get you out in the
morning is a chore, to say the least. This 5 min recipe is not only easy
to make but also filled with some healthy goodness that comes with
eating Avocado. Here are three things we don’t want you to forget the
next time you generously spread that Avocado on your morning toast.
Avocado has monounsaturated fat quite a bit actually at least 70% of
it’s fat is from oleic acid a monounsaturated fat that has the benefit
of:
1. Reducing bad cholesterol or LDL
2. Decreasing triglycerides and inflammation which is thought to be an underlying source in many chronic diseases.
3. Avocado also contains Lutein a carotenoid Vitamin that has been shown
to support eye and brain health. Some early studies supporting Lutein
and eye health were done by Dr. Johanna Sedon at Harvard University in
1994 Dietary Carotenoids Vitamins A, C, and E and advanced age-related macular degeneration. Some additional studies show daily consumption of Avocado for greater than 6 months can increase leutin levels.
If your still not convinced you should be adding this green fruit to
your diet then consider this, Avocado is also loaded with fiber and
vitamin K. Yes! even more than a Banana but without all the sugar of
that yummy yellow fruit. Soluble fiber is important for maintaining a
healthy gut supporting and maintaining a healthy gut flora is key to
optimal health. Just 3.5 ounces of Avocado has 7 grams of fiber.
Potassium a nutrient lacking in most diets helps support the electrical
gradient in the body and is part of supporting and maintaining healthy
blood pressure.
So here is a great way to get that morning jump-started with a little Green Fiber loaded with Vitamin K!
